Clues outside the grid represent the sum of the first three digits in the corresponding row or column.
Outside sudoku rules series#
Theme: A series of series (and a constant and a square) - The seemingly random numbers outside the grid actually have some rhyme and reason. Outside cells must be inserted in one of the first three cells. This is not the new type but I have seen this type appearing in one of the WPF Grand Prix 2013 Sudoku championships last year. One is Tri Sudoku where shaded cells contain three different numbers, another Sudoku is Outside Sudoku. Or solve online (using our beta test of Penpa-Edit tools use tab to alternate between Sudoku entry modes and a shading mode to mark off clues.) Place numbers in the grid such that each row, column and 3x3 box contain the numbers 1 to 9. This is the Sudoku in which the rules of two Sudoku are merged.
After few iterations, I could create this puzzle.
From the widely recognized Kropki Sudoku and Anti-knight Sudoku to the lesser-known yet equally captivating Arrow Sudoku, Consecutive Sudoku, XV Sudoku, 8x8 Sudoku, X Sum Sudoku, and Thermometer Sudoku, the possibilities are endless. I wanted to create a Palindrome Sudoku with a very long palindrome string. My earlier 9x9 size puzzles of this type are Outside Killer Sudoku (Daily Sudoku League 98) and Outside Killer Sudoku (Daily Sudoku League 77).
